We often have people ask what they should bring along when they visit us in Canada, so we thought we would make a few suggestions:

* Passports and other necessary documents to cross the border. We have the links for that information on our Canada/US Border crossing information page of this site.

* Ontario Outdoors Card and appropriate fishing license. This is easiest to do online at the following links:

* If you are not renting a boat from us, you will need all your boat and fishing gear. If you are renting here, just bring fishing gear and minnow bucket. Our boats are equipped with life jackets, net, emergency kit and paddles.

*If you are hunting during your stay, bring your license from the previous year or a hunter’s safety certificate. You may purchase the Outdoors card and appropriate hunting license online at https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-outdoors-card-and-licence-summary#section-4. You will need a Firearms declaration if carrying a firearm across the border. You can download this declaration online through this site:  https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/non-residents

*You will probably need your cell phone, (with WIFI calling enabled) camera and binoculars.

* Bring plenty of sunscreen and bug spray, polarized sunglasses (makes a big difference when fishing) and a first aid kit. We also have a kit in the lodge.

* You will need your toiletry items and medications in original prescription bottles (if you are crossing the border).

* Comfortable and bug-proof clothing for just about any kind of weather… this is Canada.

* Waterproof shoes or boots, rain jacket and rain pants.

* A waterproof boat bag so you can safely store essentials and electronics.

* You will need a cooler and drinking water to last for your stay.

* All of your food, coffee, tea, beverages, condiments, salt and pepper, baggies and aluminum foil.
